--Describe what you had to do in the assignment.
In this assignment, I had to make a website on a person I admire. I had to make an Intro page, a Biography page, an Accomplishments page, and a Citations page. For the Intro page, we had to attract the viewers interest by making it look visibly attractive. By doing this, I added a brief explanation of all of the Pages and made shortcuts to each page. For the Biography page, I wanted to focus more on how he grew up and what got him interested in Football. For the Accomplishments page, I made a brief summary on some of his key accomplishments, and followed that up by a list of things he did over his lifetime.
--Describe the technology skills you had to use to complete this assignment.
The technology skills I needed to complete this website were basic. I had to learn HTML, but other than that it took basic computer skills to complete. Using Weebly was an easy way to make this website, and with my basic knowledge of HTML and Weebly i could configure the website design to how I wanted it. The downside to my website over all is that I use it for multiple Classes. I can't make the website have a background that matches sports when I need it for my Digital Photography class and my Robotics class. This might be possible with HTML, but I am far from knowing how to make that happen. Maybe some day I'll be able to do it.
--Describe what you learned and accomplished by creating this piece of work.
I learned how to Edit the Layout of the Design on my website, I learned HTML, and I learned what is visually appealing to the readers eyes. HTML was an interesting thing to learn because it allowed me to tweak my design around and make a custom background and change the color of the page. Originally, this page was white and i had to use a darker text color. I preferred to have a darker color with a lighter text. This, I believe, is a good combination that doesn't strain the viewers eyes and is also easy to read.
--Explain what you did well in this assignment?
I believe I did well with the Intro page, leading the reader on and letting them continue if they please. This idea came from the HTML intro we were given in class, and how most websites or blogs have that external link that allows them to continue on to more information if they wish. This allows for a less clustered Intro, and a more well designed and useful initial page for the viewers.
--Explain what you would do differently to improve your work in this assignment?
What I would do differently is make an entire separate website. Having 3 classes crammed into one site makes designing it very difficult. Making the theme fit Football is impossible without causing conflict with other classes. With this in mind, the next Website I have to make will still be connected to this page, but through an external link Tab under the corresponding term. This will allow for a more custom theme and will completely remove the conflicts with the other classes. Other than that, I believe I did a fantastic job on this website!
