1. Bot IdeaUsing the Color Sensor adds new possibilities to design ideas. As we look further into the school year, we have a good number of projects we can use it on. For this design challenge, i propose that we use the colored balls to determine the colors. We can program a bot to select a specific color ball, and sent it to a location matching the color of the ball.

2. What We Need to Know.Having this idea in mind, we need to make the bot turn on its own by an X amount of degrees and a specific distance for each one. As we look at the main problem of the project, we need to focus on how we will decide which ball is place at the correct circle. With only one color sensor, we need to plan how we will use it; either to decide the color of the ball, or the circle. The rest will be programmed in for sequence. With that in mind, We decided to go with the color sensor deciding what color the circle is, making the difficult choice to now have it find the right color in the right order. This is our biggest challenge yet.

3. Building the Bot From ScratchUsually when i build a bot i have my own personal frame to work with, no matter what the project is. But, This time we have a different kit, and I have to learn how to adjust. I build the frame as small and compact as possible, leaving very little room for firm and strong attachments. This was a mistake I didnt realize in my idea of the frame. Once we tried to fit the Color Sensor on, we ran into problems. Luckily, we got it fixed. But we still cant figure out how to make our bot turn the same every time. The Struggle.

Engineering Design ProcessThe Engineering Design Process Has many Variants of itself. The first Five steps of the Design Process are as followed:
1. Identify the Problem 2. Identify Criteria and Constraints 3. Brainstorm 4. Generate ideas 5. Improve 6. 7. 8. |
